British Obesity Society


The British Obesity Society (BOS) was established in 2011 to represent the interests of people both living with and working in the field of obesity. It works to improve services and develop a healthier community in the UK. BOS is committed to help make a difference to people whose lives are plagued by obesity.


European Association for the Study of Obesity

European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO) considers obesity to be a health, research, and societal priority.  It promotes the study of obesity as well as facilitating and engaging in actions that reduce the burden of unhealthy excess weight in Europe through prevention and management.


HOOP UK aims to be ‘the go to’ organisation in the UK for support for those struggling with the issues surrounding weight management and obesity. It aims to facilitate increased awareness and engage with the public on the issues of childhood and adult obesity. This is achieved through working with media, the web, lobbying of local, regional and national organisations (public and private sector).

Instituto Tomás Pascual Sanz

The Instituto Tomás Pascual Sanz (Tomás Pascual Sanz Institute) for Nutrition and Health was created with the purpose of becoming a model for training, dissemination and accurate information actions in the field of nutrition, healthy habits, and health care in general.

National Obesity Forum

The National Obesity Forum is an independent professional organisation for tackling diabetes, heart diseases and weight related problems.

Obesity Action Campaign

The aim of Obesity Action Campaign is to raise awareness of obesity and it’s adverse health consequences, through lobbying parliament together with public and private engagement events; support research into obesity and its health consequences; educate mothers and adolescents about obesity and its adverse consequences.


The Online Best Evidence Service In Tackling obesitY+ (OBESITY+) is sponsored by the Canadian Obesity Network/Réseau canadien en obésité and provided by McMaster University’s Health Information Research Unit. OBESITY+ provides access to the current best evidence about the causes, course, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and economics of obesity and its related metabolic and mechanical complications.

Observatorio de la Nutrición y de Estudio de la Obesidad

The Observatorio de la Nutrición y de Estudio de la Obesidad (Observatory of Nutrition and of he Study of Obesity) was created as an information system for determining the nutritional situation and obesity evolution of the Spanish population and to act as a meeting point between all actors involved in which the objectives of the NAOS Strategy come together (promotion of healthy diets and regular physical exercise).

The Public Health England Obesity Knowledge and Intelligence provides a single point of contact for wide-ranging authoritative information on data, evaluation, evidence and research related to weight status and its determinants.
